When You're Happy, We're Happy!

My husband and I recently adopted a beautiful kitten named Puff from Last Hope Petco.

We absolutely adore baby Puff.

He is just the sweetest little angel and a wonderful addition to our family. Both my husband and I felt extremely comfortable adopting a kitten from Last Hope. Last Hope is dedicated to finding loving homes for these animals and they are there to offer you any advice or guidance you may need throughout the adoption process.

Speak to you soon, Debbie...

MOPPET then

MOPPET now

Just wanted to let you know that I am seeing progress every day. She checked out just fine at the Vet's. She is eating very well.

At first she would lie in a corner of the living room, but now she has moved to lying in the middle where she can keep an eye on me.

We went for a walk yesterday and both of us got wet when it started raining.

Things are going well. I am going to call today to enroll us in a basic obedience class. I don't think she really needs it, but it will be fun for us to do.

I adopted my cat, Lily, from Last Hope in April 1998. Her name was Cubbles back then and I believe her human's name was Ann. My co-worker's sister-in-law worked for Jericho Animal Hospital and called to say Last Hope had a gorgeous tabby with tiger eyes and a pretty pattern. I had been thinking about getting a cat, as it had been a little over a year since our cat passed away. So I called Last Hope and found out she would be at the Petsmart on Hempstead Tpke (I think in East Meadow). When I met her, it was love at first sight. I picked her up and she looked at me and meowed and I was hers. I named her Lily because she looks like a little tiger and tigerlillies are so pretty. She is now 10 years young and a very happy girl. We have a two year old son who (much to her chagrin) absolutely adores her. She is so patient and good with him. My husband's family also has a Last Hope pet, a dog named Sammy, who my son also loves. Sammy had some issues, but overall he is a loving dog. I've attached some pictures of Lily and one of Sammy so you can see how happy they are. Thanks so much for the amazing work you do and for allowing me to adopt the sweetest, most loving cat in the world!

Love,
Jill S

Hi,

In the early part of December, 1997, I went to Petsmart in Garden City (not there anymore) to buy cat food for my cat Maggie. It happened to be adoption day and I saw this 6 month old gray and white kitten going from a carrier to a cage. He jumped in, swatted a toy hanging from the top and then flopped over on his side. It was love at first sight. His name was Martin, after the man that found him and his two siblings on a golf course when they were 8 weeks old. His siblings were adopted but Martin remained, mainly because he's a nipper and develops conjunctivitis of the eye when stressed. It took a few weeks for me to convince my husband but on December 28, 1997, Linda delivered him to my house. He was renamed Smokey, and he is friendly, affectionate, loving and funny.
Smokey is now retired and living with us in Florida. He is not a well cat and we almost lost him last summer. Smokey suffers from inflammatory bowel disease and chronic pancreatitis. He takes prednisone and eats a prescription diet. Smokey lost weight and went from 13 pounds to 9 pounds. At one point he was under 9 pounds. Now, back at just 12 pounds, he runs around the house, gives head butts, likes the top of his head to be kissed and chases Maggie.
Thank you Last Hope for Smokey (aka Martin). You do a wonderful service caring for and finding homes for lost and unwanted pets.

Dear Bonnie and all our friends at Last Hope,

Two years ago, our beloved cat passed away, and we felt heartbroken. In fact, we couldn't even look at a photo of a cat without feeling very sad... then one day, last summer, we woke up, and said, "It's time to fill our house again with the love of a cat...or two!" So, off we went to look for a new animal companion... and the moment we saw Mamie and Ike, who are a brother and sister, at the adoption center, we knew we had found our new true loves. It's funny how that happens, isn't it? We instinctively knew they were a purrfect match for us, and we were right! They are beautiful, friendly, sweet, loving, and affectionate. After a long day at work, we are so elated to come home, and find them waiting at the door for us. They truly put a smile on our faces... and you know what?... we think we see them smiling back at us, too! Thank you, Last Hope, for renewing the joy in our lives, and keep up the good work!

Sincerely,
Stacey and John
