It's "Trooper" the love bug!

I am here!!!
Come and visit me and Fletcher!

“As you get older it is harder to have heroes, but it is sort of necessary.” - Ernest Hemingway...
Please be my hero!

My name is Fletcher and I am approximately 5 years old. I found myself in a cage at the Town of Oyster Bay Shelter after I escaped from Hemingway’s estate. Luckily, a Last Hope hero came to save me from a terrible fate....Now I await my ULTIMATE HERO, the person who will choose me and give me a forever home.
I am a presence at Last Hope, but I am hoping to be a presence in your home. Upon visiting me, you will probably hear my unique meow. That is just my way of expressing that I am unhappy in the cage. I like to be free to walk around and stretch my legs, paws, and extra toes. Yes, I have thumbs, but I cannot open jars for you!

Ernest Hemingway said it best – “The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.” I will make you happy, trust me!

We’re The Cat’s Meow!

This is a wonderful time of year, but it’s still cold and lonely too.
Have you thought about adopting
And always have some magic waiting at home for you?

A happy cat’s an adoptable cat, no matter what our age.
Wouldn’t you like to take one of us home
Rather than leave us to pine away in a cage?

Living at the Last Hope Animal Rescue is very nice, it’s true.
But if any of us were given the choice,
We’d much rather live with you.

So let us give you some references, we’re completely socialized.
We’re playful, loyal and great companions
And come in just about every age and size.

We’re cheerful and healthy, have had every shot.
We’re neat and well mannered. We’ll give you all we’ve got.

Valentine’s Day is coming, Spring and Easter too.
Can’t you just picture our cuddling up with you?

Having a permanent home would mean so much to us,
And if we could be living at your house, it would be a definite plus.

February & March are cold and nasty, still not the time for you to roam.
We could spend it bonding, warm and cozy in "our" home.

We have a lot of love to give to you and your family.
Just take a look into our hearts and our eyes;
And hear us purring contentedly.

In pairs or singly, we know you’ll agree,
We’ll do our very best to make you happy.

What, you’re still thinking but aren’t quite sure?
Just take another look at us, and please let us enter your door.

Together we’ll celebrate when winter is done.
And share the moment when Spring has actually come.

The arrival of flowers and birds, such a treat.
We can enjoy watching it all from inside on a window seat.

So open your heart and we’ll do the rest.
We promise this decision will be your very best!
